Unit Number Three!

Hello fellow classmates! Unit three has (finally) come to an end! Yay?

First of all, I have to say, that this was the most hardest unit we have been through yet! I have had the worst grades in my Economics class, simply because of the difficulty of comprehending the material in this unit. But I am glad to say that I MADE IT THROUGH and here are some of the stuff that I looked at to help comprehend. Below listed are my notes and websites and videos that helped me along unit III.

NOTES:

For one thing, multipliers are very difficult to use if you don't understand them. One day in my Economics class, I asked my teacher, "Why do we have to understand multipliers?"  after she finished the class lecture. She and the whole classroom gave me the craziest look and she told us the answer. I nodded in agreement, but I  didn't still understand what she meant. A day later, she administered a worksheet to the classroom, and one student after the other, began asking the same question I asked yesterday! She then said, "Well, Whitney, since everyone is asking this question you asked me yesterday, you should teach it to the entire classroom tomorrow." I thought she was nuts! But she was serious as a stroke, and I knew I was going to have to take the time out of my day to study this material and REALLY tell the class what they need to know, without confusing them or stumbling over in logic reason...

I had a power point made and everything! But my teacher said, "You don't need a power point to explain something that you should know...".So I went up there and gulped and said pretty much what I had on the power point...

*(From the Power point)*

Importance in Investment

A rise in investment causes a rise in income and employment through the multiplier process and vice-versa.

The increase in the level of income and employment depend upon the multiplier

Analysis of “trade cycle"

Multipliers help in controlling different phases of business cycles occurring due to fluctuations in the level of income and employment.

Formulation of Economic Policies

Government can decide upon the amount  of investment to be injected into the economy to reduce unemployment.

The multiplier helps the government in formulating an appropriate employment policy during depression.

After that, I still had faces of confusion in the room in front of me, and I still had to say this in simpler terms.
It was a very challenging task. But I am glad my teacher choose me for that discussion, because if it was not for that, I don't think I would understand multipliers at all! Thanks, Mrs.McCartney!!!!

That sums up Unit III (no blog for this unit (insert sad face here)), but for the next topic we will discuss, I will be sure to have some "street input" on the topic.

Thanks for reading!
-Whitney!
